Fireworks cost a buck-o'five

Happy fourth of July! We spent our sweltering day out in the backyard. We roasted food, had tacos, played in the kiddie pool and set off a bunch of little fireworks.

The fireworks cost far more than $1.05, more like $40, but we were certain it was worth the money because wouldn't our child who loves loud noises, excitement and bright things - love fireworks? Well, not really. She was interested but she was also very wary. I thought for sure she'd want to help hold a really quiet sparkler. (no she didn't) and as it turns out, B'dah was totally cool with the spectacle, but Riley, not so much.

So we'll try again next year. We still have some fireworks left to get us started!

Who Wore it Better? Battle of the Polka Dot Dress

How embarrassing... when you end up wearing the exact same outfit as another baby. Luckily these two ended up wearing the same dress during July, but two years apart.

So Ali is the "more experienced" dress model, but Riley brings an abundance of charm with her sour lemon expressions!

Those blue eyes

Yes folks, I think they're here to stay! Riley's eyes are so impossibly dark brown (and gorgeous) that I was really surprised to see a baby (my baby) with much bluer, newborn eyes. I'm still entranced and surprised by her bright blues.

We all love our little B'dah so much! Kisses for those sweet hands!

Dancing the Night Away

So last night I could tell Ri was feeling crummy and the thermometer revealed that yes, she has a fever over 101. So maybe not just allergies? I have no idea.

I put on some music-tv shows that were on the DVR and for awhile she just kicked back in her mini-recliner and watched, but soon gave into dancing. Her dancing was spastic and at one point she fell on the floor. Sadly, I didn't get the really good moves on camera. But here's an except of some of the less extreme moves. (even dolly gets included in the dancing).
