In an Octopus's Garden...

So we just about died of cuteness and fun. Seriously.

Last Friday, Michele and I took Riley to a local amusement park and decided it might be fun to let her go on a few rides. We had no idea how much fun it would be. This was her first time going on any rides like this and in the end it was perfect. Most of the rides had almost no lines, the weather was great and we got parking nearby. It was like Disneyland for 1/600th the cost (plus perfect for those of us who get exhausted easily).

The first ride Riley went on was the Octopus-fish ride. Michele hoisted her into a fish-seat and (no seat belts) and stepped back and hoped for the best. Thankfully she's respectful of heights and although it was definitely a little confusing at first, she loved it. She waved and blew kisses at us and generally exuded delight.

Funderland indeed. I'm looking for any excuse to take her again!

Oh, my goodness, where to start, cuteness overload! The adorable hand waving to the paparazzi, with pigtails and wearing a vintage split-sleeve shirt with tulip applique in a cute little fish at the end of an octupus tentacle--cute piled on cute!
